This season, with the heartfelt participation of a passionate amateur team, a group of dedicated professionals and NIVEA FOR MEN, The Great Football Experiment was born. And the results were surprising, to say the least.

The Great Football Experiment came into being due to a nationwide contest and public vote, resulting in one fortunate team being invited to live a professional footballer’s dream — the chance to be coached, trained and prepared by some of the world’s finest.

The fortunate team, Ivory FC, may have found themselves floored a bit when they found out that they were to be coached by football greats Terry Venables, Ray Wilkins and Ray Clemence.  But they took it in their stride, and soon were down on the field enjoying all the hard work that a world-class team endures.  Hard work, yes — but the benefits were enormous, and included:

• Encouragement, support and advice from the best physio’s in the country

• Intensive coaching sessions from England and FA coaches
• The chance of a lifetime to play against a real English Legend team

Nivea Great Football Experiment did more than offer an extraordinary opportunity to a Sunday league; it also posed—and answered—an important question in sports training and fitness: Can an untrained-yet-talented group of hopefuls achieve greatness and win against a team of professionals, strictly from the benefits of a crash course of coaching?
